Introducing Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team

We are pleased to introduce the new Mental Health and Wellbeing Team at The Heights Academy who are: Miss Hughes, Miss Newton, Miss Sturgeon and Mrs Walker.

At our school, we believe that feeling safe, happy and supported is just as important as learning in the classroom. We understand that sometimes children, families and staff may experience challenges that affect how they feel, both at school and at home. Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team is here to help when extra support or guidance is needed.

Our team is here to:

  • Provide a safe and supportive space to talk
  • Offer early support if worries or concerns arise
  • Work together with families to help children through challenges
  • Provide guidance and advice for parents and staff
  • Encourage a school culture where wellbeing is valued and openly talked about

Each member of the team is committed to supporting the wellbeing of our whole school community.

If your child would benefit from extra support or if you would like to talk to someone about a concern, please feel free to contact a member of the team. This service is available for students, families and staff, and we are always happy to listen and help where we can.

Together, we can continue to support not only the learning of our students, but also their wellbeing and happiness.
