Welcome to The Heights Academy – A Forward Education Trust Academy.

Head's Welcome

Welcome to the website of The Heights Academy, proudly part of the Forward Education Trust family of schools. I am truly delighted to serve as the Headteacher of this innovative and welcoming school, which opened its doors in September 2023.

Initially, we have welcomed 48 enthusiastic pupils in Years 3-7. Our vision is to grow steadily over the coming years to offer provision for a total of 116 pupils across all key stages from KS2 through KS4. Our unique educational approach is tailored specifically for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), focusing primarily on those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are proud to be a designated choice by the Solihull Local Authority for these learners.

At The Heights, we are committed to delivering an outstanding educational experience by implementing a broad and balanced curriculum that prioritises access to the National Curriculum while integrating a comprehensive life skills and wellbeing programme. This approach ensures that our pupils not only excel academically but also develop the essential skills needed for life beyond school.

To meet the unique needs of our pupils, we provide an additional package of tailored interventions and support from visiting professionals. This multi-disciplinary approach includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Autism & Behaviour Consultancy, allowing us to address the individual requirements of each pupil effectively.

We understand that structure and routine are vital for our pupils’ development. Therefore, we create a nurturing environment that fosters growth, confidence, and resilience. Our ultimate goal is to help our pupils evolve into Successful Learners, Respectful Citizens, and Confident Individuals who are well-prepared for their future.

We believe in working collaboratively with families and external partners to maximise our pupils’ potential and enhance their learning experiences. Together, we can create a supportive network that champions each child’s journey through education.

I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our school community, the exceptional opportunities we offer, and how we can work together to support your child’s development and success.

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope it gives you the information you need, if not, please contact the school for further information.
