Heights Official Opening day

On the 27th November 2023, we celebrated the official opening of The Heights Academy. After many months of hard work we were extremely proud to officially open our school on Monday. We welcomed Professor Sir Christopher Ham DL, from the West Midlands Lord Lieutenancy as a representative of His Majesty King Charles to mark the occasion. On the 27th November 2023, we celebrated the official opening of The Heights Academy.

After many months of hard work we were extremely proud to officially open our school on Monday. We welcomed Professor Sir Christopher Ham DL, from the West Midlands Lord Lieutenancy as a representative of His Majesty King Charles to mark the occasion.

There was ribbon cutting and speeches, followed by some food. We then watched a congratulatory video from our children, parents, staff and supporters. It was a wonderful way to celebrate with all those who have helped us on our way to successfully opening the Heights Academy.  

Some of our staff and children conducted guided tours of our new school, where they got to show off their purpose built classrooms and specialist equipment. 

Colleagues from SMBC were able to see the result of 5 years of work and the team from Tilbury Douglas saw the school they’ve built with people in it!

It was a fantastic event to say “we’re open”!  Thank you to everyone involved for your support and dedication to our wonderful new school.
