Family Support at The Heights Academy

Details about our pastoral support

Hi, I am Elysha Hughes, Pupil Wellbeing and Engagement Lead here at The Heights Academy. Part of my role is to provide support and advice to the families I work with in school. At The Heights Academy, we believe in the power of community and the importance of nurturing our children’s potential. Our staff team is dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment that embodies our philosophy of “high challenge, high support.” We encourage children to become respectful citizens, confident individuals, and successful learners, equipping them with the skills they need to thrive.

We recognize that parents and families play a crucial role in this journey, and we are committed to engaging and empowering you every step of the way. Whether you’re seeking advice, support, or resources, we are here to help you build strong relationships that foster growth and development.

Your privacy is paramount. All advice and support offered will remain confidential, with the understanding that any safeguarding concerns will be addressed in line with our school’s safeguarding and child protection policy. Together, let’s create a nurturing environment where our children can flourish and our families can thrive

We will focus on enabling our pupils to:

  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Build resilience and confidence
  • stay safe
  • Have a voice and be heard
  • Encouraging and supporting positive peer relationships

We may not have all the answers, but we are here to provide support and advice with:

  • Sign positing and information about services within local area
  • Supporting to access these (Referral process etc.)
  • Improving school attendance
  • Providing emotional support
  • Providing internal support available in school
